I saw that too. Am I to infer that the owner of the broken bow boat is unhappy with the craftsmanship of the Nortech?

I very well may be mistaken, but the boat needs to go to the grinder.

Not sure where you got that but anyway I think they worded the ad wrong, it should be that they'll PAY someone $25,000 to haul and grind that thing.

I guess it could be repaired, if the rest of the hull is solid.

It would make a nice outdoor Bar area for someone patio.

So is it safe to say they owner did not hurt himself falling of a ladder, but hurt himself when the Bow fell off.

Well maybe 6 months of Glass Dave's time and whole lot of money you'd have yourself a boat..... with no engines, drives and a history of being trashed and submerged. Seems like swell deal!

I laughed looking at the pics and it said waterproof in a few spots. Waterproof maybe, but take a beating, NO. Too bad they did not say what happened. I bet it was stuffed really good.

I didn`t know fiberglass was so expensive.

MonkeySea2 08-24-2015 02:04 PM

In all seriousness, is that boat really fixable?? Would it ever be as strong as before?? And 25K for that?!?!

This and with out the orginal molds is it even possible.

How does this even happen. Stuff the nose???

CDShack 08-24-2015 03:24 PM

GLASSDAVE!!!!! There is a boat for sale on the "Craigslist Gold" in Boston that's been cut in half? There you go!

it looks to be a hard (HARD) stuff

yes it is and i would not be the slightest bit nervous about doing it either, we have a saying . . . . its only fiberglass and its sitting right there in the drum just needs to be made into a shape :D
it just comes down is it worth it. If I really had to have THAT boat i would have no prob fixing it. It would take more time and money then its worth but my time to me is free (so to speak). I doubt it would cost prohibitive in any way to try and pay a true professional to put that together. Off the top of my head, i dont know . . . forty - forty five grand without access to the molds . . . with access maybe half that. I've done similar repairs with great results, one of which was a hundred forty mile an hour cat five years ago that has logged race after race without so much as a single stress crack on any repair or seam i did. I cut nearly sixteen feet off the port sponson from the tip back and nearly all the way up to the top of the tunnel.
