I haven't talked to any of the Hammond guys yet but they are pretty much up to anything.

I won't be able to go Sunday if we move to then.

I'll let you know

I think I am going to join in on the fun this weekend if the big lake cooperates. I only run a Velocity 220 so I don't feel like running it in 3 to 5's.
Check Freak did you get the motor back together? If not, you are welcome to jump in with me for the ride.

candyman35 09-19-2002 10:41 PM

I normally run a straight line to Wells Street beach and then follow the shoreline. That only adds 3 miles to the trip. There's not much to see further west. Wells Street is 3-4 miles west of Portage. I agree with Kaama about going in as one big group. Image is everything! :D

MIKE S,
What port are you out of?

Mr.Cig,
I may launch at Hammond if it keeps on raining. I’ll let you know Friday night.

Is any one else thinking of going if the weather is good? Let us know so we can figure out a schedule.

Dan

candyman35 09-19-2002 11:21 PM

This is the list so far. Let me know the changes I need to make. Also list what port you are coming from. The last weather forecast was showing 75 and no rain. Only thing to worry about is the winds. Make sure to check the board Friday night and Saturday morning for any last minute changes.

I will be in charge of the Hammond group. If there is anyone on the list that is not going to go please let me know. If anyone has any problems Saturday morning give me a call on my cell phone 708-218-1566. I don't want to leave anyone behind. I also don't want the group waiting if someone is not going to make.

Who is in charge on the Michigan side?
Make sure you get my cell phone # so we can coordinate things.

KAAMA 09-20-2002 01:58 AM

Well gang, my boat will NOT be ready for this weekend---dang! We worked on my boat from 6:30PM to 2:30AM and I just got home. I only have a couple more things to do yet, but my boat just won't be ready and I don't want to push it. Besides, I want to water test the boat without feeling like I have to be somewhere. I have to keep a cool head and let things fall as they come so to speak. I've spent too much time trying to do this the right way and I don't want to get ahead of myself. We need about another 3-5 hours before the boat is even ready to fire. Which is really close, but not close enough to make this run---I am VERY disappointed! :( This things sounds like SO MUCH FUN! But if the weather doesn't cooperate I should be ready for this racket to happen next weekend. I'm still going to try and make it---even if I have to drive down to Michigan City with my truck.

candyman35 09-20-2002 02:21 AM

Kaama,
Sorry to hear the boat won't be done. I'm sure we will get a couple more good weekends. Hope you still make it to MC.
Dan
