I think Craig Barrie has a good reputation and is well respected within the boating community but I know both Todd & Nick personally & I couldn't get either one of them to return my call as an interested party wanting to build a new Perf CC. I took my business elsewhere & am very satisfied w/ my purchase & build experience thru SportBoats Marine & Nor-Tech.

Kinda funny .. I called Craig Barrie to inquire about a CC after a friend got a very agressive price on one from them, he sure didn't want to extend that pricing to me. Oh well my next CC is already on the drawing board at Nor-Tech.

I had a similar offer but still chose the NT, but I imagine their business probably can't sustain that sort of pricing.

Sure the "hose out" and walk away CC's is appealing if you have a 10 year old Mako/Whaler but not one of these "all bling, no fish blood" machines. Some of these boats have the two tone interiors with the pleated inserts. They will look trashed if not cared for with a toothbrush, chamois and plenty of elbow grease!

The Nortech- Angler series boats are very cool. If you plan on fishing or traveling to the Bahamas you will not find High Octane fuel (I believe the 400's req that). the 400's will be an eye catcher for sure but flexibility to run your boat to the islands could be compromised.

Great point Maximus, I believe my 350's will automatically adjust to anywhere in between 87 & 93 octane as will the H.P. output.

The 400R has a minimum octane requirement of 89.

Nothing a few Octane booster bottles can't fix!

Buy a case of Octane boost and it should last you the whole year!

I heard the newer models could adjust on the 350. It looks like they adapted the same system to the 400.

Thats good news for the guys that run to the islands because you never know what you get over there. You could get 87 you could get regular ethanol gas or rec 90. I always assume the gas is straight pump 87.

Not sure I would want to take any risks with a beautiful set of motors like the 400's on back. but hey if they are under warranty. and you feel like Octane boost would truly suffice.....have at it. Factory may have some acceptable solutions for this scenario as well.
