I watched this same thing happen at my cottage years ago. A big MTI or Skater was taking off in the lake and all of a sudden the cops tried to catch him and put the sirens on. There was no way the driver ever saw or heard this cop. They eventually tracked him down with a helicopter about 40 miles later. My guess is he never knew the guy was there. When I am driving, usually the last place I am concerned about is what is directly behind me.

BTW is that Chuck's old boat? The OCM trade? They noted it was unregistered which would make sense if the new owner doesn't have a title.

Drive to arrive alive!!!

Something similar happened to us years ago on the Key West Poker run. We were in the blue 50 Nortech cat and had some "issues" on the way down. We left Gilberts about dark and took the cut to the outside. We were hauling butt a mile two offshore and finally stopped to take a break. Next thing we know there were 3 Coast Gaurd boats boarding us with their combat boots on and weapons out. After they searched the boat, they said they'd been chasing us for 30 minutes. I said at that speed at night we weren't looking behind us. He said it's a good thing that we stopped because they had already dispatched the helo. After I told him we were on the Florida Powerboat Club poker run he said to have a nice and safe night. After the fact we got a good laugh out of it but it was scary at the time. A dark blue 50' cat that wasn't stopping at night might have looked like drug runners on the radar
