Cowes Classic 2015

The Cowes Torquay Cowes race last Sunday was competed for in unusually flat conditions, allowing Vector Martini Rosso to break the 54 year course record time at an average speed of 94.55 mph over a distance of 193.90 nm.

US racer Daryl Grady co-drove an Apache hull into Torquay in 4th place.

John

What was the final boat count and how many classes was that number spread across?

ItsPeanut 09-13-2015 08:35 AM

Which apache hull was it that came in 4th. Wasn't Grady involved with building the Warpath boat?

It gets confusing doesn't it. The boat pictured above is the Flying Falcon which is an old Apache and is owned by GlennChidzoy who lives in France and has Daryl Grady on board This boat placed 4th to Torquay and withdrew from the return leg.

Now Daryl and his brother Scott own Chief powerboats....... and ......The new Warpath was built out of the molds owned by Chief by Bob Saccenti for a european racer from Norway. That boat is now in the USA down at LOTO. Bob Saccenti hasn't had any association with Chief at all for almost a year now.

The racer from Norway was also at Cowes this year and was co-driving a Bertram which also completed just the first leg and withdrew. Hope that clears up the confusion.

Peanut.....can you answer the question I asked of John above? How many total boats and how many classes did they have between the total number. Thanks
