YES, there are specs, drawings and more...and these boats are being produced and marketed by a few well known and respected individuals with many years "EXPERIENCE". Should be very interesting to see the finished product and it's performance!

"Each 41 foot, 550 pound canoe-like boat holds 22 people: 20 paddlers, a drummer in the front and the steerer in the back." Local teams from various businesses compete for charity. |

Craig Barrie is heading this adventure up. He ran Cigarette for like 20+ years! and from what I've heard he is mainly responsible for the Cafe Racer conseption. I think he knows a thing or two about building a first class bad ass boat!! Cool guy too, met him at the SCOPE Poker run. He is supposed to be at the Havasu poker run in October as well.

I seen some folks dragonboats down to the launch ramp at the enda my street just last weekend. I think one of 'em was onea them thar cigar boats?
|
tank,
The Cafe Racer was introduced in 1986 and Don was still at the helm...not knocking Craig, but the Cafe Racer was before his time. I'm gonna go out on a limb and sat that BROWNIE may have had his hand in the Cafe design...but I could be wrong. |
Hey, just stating what I heard....Now I realize Don was still around in 86 and of course running the show. However I believe Craig was at Cig at this time and most likely had something to do with the boat thus creating the opinion of some that I know (who own cafe's) That he had a major part in the production and design of the cafe. Tell you what though, when I see him at the Havasu fall poker run I'll talk to him about this;) ;)
