old boating mags
 

Cleaned out my bedroom back at my parents house...came across a bunch of back issues of POKER RUNS USA...POWERBOAT...BOATING mags. Performance boat oriented. Would anyone want them? its been hard but every year I take hot rod, motorcycle and boating magazines and pass them out in hospital waiting rooms and even sick kids rooms during the winter holidays to give back to my area. My problem is out of pocket expense as it is very hard nowadays to get free magazines to just pass out for free. I will pay for them to be shipped to me and you can send them media mail. If I can get all of these that sure would be a big favor to me.

I have posted this before looking for magazines and no responses from anyone up here. Thank you for your time.

Artie when I did post a couple of years ago you responded to donate money as I refused your donation. I do not want money period, I just want magazines especially boat magazines..

please read posts 12 & 13 & 14 in this thread as I am not BS here and NOT for profit selling on my end. It really is a lot of work to get 500 magazines from car, bikes and boats. Just saying.

So this did not pan out for me but no problem on my end. I will ask again up here does anyone have boat or bike or car magazines but especially boat magazines laying around collecting dust that want to get rid of them ?.

I do NOT want money from anyone period making it very clear here. Since I am in the boat business it is only fitting that I have boat magazines as well to pass out for the month of December. I hit about 8 hospitals in the DFW area. I make no money doing this period and actually is a expense for me.

I have done this 9 years in a row. I have very little magazines so far and even fewer boat magazines currently. Here is my current numbers of 28 magazines total, inwhich 10 are boat and the rest are car magazines. I use to pass out over 500 magazines years ago / per year but every year that number has gone way down. Anyways I will pay for shipping and possible pay within reason for any boat magazines. Went to the used book store last night yep that was my big Friday nite out on the town - bought 25 Mopar Muscle magazines for 5 bucks and 3 super chevy magazines and only 1 boating magazine for another 5 bucks. 10 bucks - 29 magazines more to pass out for a total of 57.

So what are the odds here that the number one and largest high performance boating website in the world that anyone would have a boating magazines ?? Not like I am asking for a winning lottery ticket here or a pair of new 1350's plus I do not want any money period.

I am not asking for one person to send me 100's of their magazines but if a 100 people send me 5, I would be doing really good. I will pay for the shipping and media mail would be 2 or 3 bucks at the most for 5 magazines if even that cost.

Bup thats a great thing you do, but to get most people on here to give to give up their old mags is probably akin to asking a teenager to give up his playboy stash, lol

I'll take a look and see what I have. I have a decent stack of yachting , Boating, and probably some car mags. Wife is quick to toss em if I don't hide them in my office :)

How about aviation mags?

Sure let me know, I know the doctors will snag the Yachting magazines and most anything small plane related. This is exactly what I am saying that most women hate the stock pile of magazines that guys collect thru out the years. They throw them in the recycle bin. Again I will take any boat magazine, bike and car magazine. Seems like today many of the kids like anything to do with wake boarding and that type of boat.

I want to give a big thanks to a member David of Custom Touch in Austin who is helping me out as he seen this post today, We are going to meet midway about 90 miles for the both of us to grab a bunch of boating magazines. I am getting a lot closer to the 500 or more mark of magazines. Last year I drove almost 200 miles round trip to pick up 280 boat magazines one week before Christmas because I was completely out of magazines and thought shipping them would take forever that time of the year. Hell freaking diesel was almost 4 bucks a gallon to do so. Thank goodness the magazines were free. Just saying.

Thanks to the people who are trying to help. I do this because it seems to really change the mood in the hospitals especially in the December months. People faces change completely from a tired look to a happy face when you show up even just to pass out magazines of interest.

I had a lot of older and newer Performance Mags and I use to bring them to the Doctors Office, Hospital Lounges and Dentist Office. All they had were Good House Keeping, Time Life and other woman books so I thought that it would be good to bring some mags each time I went to promote Power Boating and I got rid of most of them to my wife pleasure.

Found 35 or so, mostly boating stuff. Shoot me a PM and we can figure out how to get them there.

Would like to THANK EVERYONE who sent me magazines for the holiday pass out. If anyone lives in the DFW area you know the crazy weather we had all year and of late the flooding from this past weekend. This is the starting week that I usually pass the magazines out. I will be delayed all week because we did get some house damage from the flooding so I am stuck at the house until we get some of this looked at and fixed.

Man this has been a rough year with this constant bad weather all year. Some of the lakes are closed once again in the area. Anyways just wanted people to know what is taking place. Really would like to give a HUGE THANKS to David of Custom Touch for all his time and the all the magazines.
