I love the wire on the deck. Must of been handy for loading stuff through those beat up hatches at sea.

ill send you a project lol!

32fever 09-16-2002 09:19 PM

Holy crap! Someone tried to "bottom paint" a Fountain? That's damn near the whole boat! They're half sunk as it is, just anti-foul the whole damn thing!

Mark

US1 Fountain 09-16-2002 09:25 PM

Interior looks like chit, Exterior looks like chit,
new style deck hatches?
whats with the dock box in the cabin?

And yet, they cared enough to bottom paint!

Sydwayz 09-16-2002 11:51 PM

I was expecting the transom, swim platform, and half the engine hatch to have bottom paint on a close up!!

Scott 09-17-2002 08:36 AM

I'm trying to figure out how a six year old boat could possibly look that bad:confused: Talk about abuse:rolleyes:

Ryan Beckley 09-17-2002 09:12 AM

My buddy bought the exact same boat in worse condition for around 30K it is a show piece now. That boat was a customs boat.

Ryan Beckley 09-17-2002 12:19 PM

Too Old
He's out of town this week , but I'll try to get the before and after pics next week. How much are they at now on this boat?

McGary911 09-17-2002 02:13 PM

I'd like to say that that boat was run hard and put away wet, but it doesn't look like anyone ever put it away at all. The radar arch looks to be the cleanest thing on the boat. Guess they never got around to installing the actual radar, or they might not have gotten caught.

BRUCE SEROFF 09-17-2002 02:36 PM

LOOKS MORE LIKE A 1986 TO ME:confused:

Racing_Fan 09-17-2002 02:51 PM

At least the K-planes are still on the transom

I heard the winning bidder gets one of these too!

1350SC 09-17-2002 03:05 PM

I WOULD SAY THE OWNER OF THAT BOAT SHOULD BE SHOT, BUT I'M SURE HE WAS ALL READY!!!!!!!!!

Interceptor 09-17-2002 04:13 PM

Compare this to the 38 Pantera w/o power & drive but basically new that was for sale in the classifieds earlier and the Pantera was a steal. The Cigarette someone is debating on selling for 50K is also a steal compared to this.

hp500efi 09-17-2002 04:46 PM

$ 34,100 bid? maybe the bidder knows that somewhere in that heap of a mess is still some unfound treasure waiting to be claimed :)

Good luck to whomever buys that.

42 fountain

low dollars for a 42 just sold 1992 42 trip with no power for $58000.00 last weak with no trailer this boat is not that bad saw it today at there yard. not that bad all rigging is there needs seats redone and motor and drive systems,I have 1999 502 mpi and drive that i can sell if one of you buy it:D :D:D need to see this boat

spitfire1 09-18-2002 10:10 AM

Saw this boat........its an ex customs boat......pictures dont do it any favors..it will clean up much nicer than what it appears....a little cleaning and polish will go a long way..hull seems to be solid from what I saw....it does need an interior and engines/drives....and I dont know what would be involved with removing the bottom paint...but for someone with time and experience this could be brought back, if you are done with the sonic this could be your next project Fred....:D

FunHome 09-18-2002 10:40 AM

Was it an old Patrol boat or something that they seized??

How could you ever get that bottom paint off?

I not interested it already too far out of my reach!! It would make a awsome Mail Box. Or maybe a sign for someone's marina!!

DanB 09-18-2002 04:55 PM

Ryan
You must be talking about Richards boat. That thing is prime!!! He did a fantastic job...better then factory. And a lot less cost. Wish I had the time and facility to do that.
See ya soon now that the boating season is starting :)

33 fountains make nice dumpsters. FUNHOME you can try to water your boat and make it grow :p :p :p :p :p :p your not a nice guy ! are you! I trying to help some one get a nine boat for no money be nice, or some bigger may step on you, have a great day:D

Scott 09-18-2002 09:14 PM

Is there a Optometrist on the board?????
Cast needs a eye exam:p :D :D

OkieTunnel 09-18-2002 09:58 PM

I have never seen a 96' Fountain with a "retro" dash like that. I wonder how they determined it was a 96 model? I have rebuilt a few boats but this one is already way beyond a reasonable price even if it didn't have bottom paint. This is what happens when a blow-boater owns a Fountain. They paint the bottom and take out the engines. If it wasn't recovered sooner it would have had a mast and an outboard! :D :D :D

joeyoffshore 09-18-2002 10:20 PM

That thing whatever it is gave me chicken skin.

joey

Jayl13 09-19-2002 07:34 AM

I dont think it looks THAT bad
Yes it is rough no doubt but it is able to be revived im sure
but then again what the hell do I know
My toilet is still waiting for engines for the second time now
Jason

FunHome 09-19-2002 10:34 AM

Scott, I know what you mean!!

Cast, Dumpster:confused: Well it has been known to haul some "White Trash" before!:D
Water my Fountain:rolleyes: It just happens to be getting rained on as I type!! If it grows I'll let you know!!;)
I'm not a nice guy:p Now, that's Funny!!:D I'm usually TOO NICE!

I hear you on trying to get someone a good deal on a Boat!! But, calm down I was just asking a couple of questions!!

BTW, They do have a 42ft boat as a sign at the Lake of the Ozarks. We do everything in a Big way here in the Midwest!!

"Someone may step on you" that sounds like words of a BLOWHARD!

FunHome 09-19-2002 11:32 AM
