Besides knowing his daughter socially, I'm a fan because he's is a stand up guy. Plus his music isn't bad at all. In the 70's he married his daughters Mom. His daughter was from his wife's previous relationship. He adopted her. The biological father was not in the picture. After their divorce in the 80's, Collins not only paid child support, he continued to treat her as his daughter. Even after having biological children of his own. Busy rock star, we make time to visit his adopted daughter and was a father to her. The daughter became an actress, on several Canadian TV shows. Even as an adult and doing o.k. as an actress, Collins is still in her life. Few years ago she had children, Collins was in Vancouver for the births and he treats those kids like his own grandkids. Not many people decide to adopt their significant others children and stay in those children's lives after the relationship goes south. Rarely if ever do they pay child support. Collins is a cool guy worthy to be a fan of!

no doubt you described a great guy, but just for accuracy's sake, in american if you adopt a kid, and get divorced, that child is your legal financial obligation, no ifs and or buts. Phil very likely knew this and still adopted the girl which only ads to his being such a great guy
