Houston We have ignition....... Doug Lewis has completed stage 3 of 3
 

Leeann advised that the "Champ" has completed the 3rd stage of his Multiple Myeloma Treatment:

Stage1 (Thursday 9/12): Cutting age Homium Treatment that links radioactive isotopes to cancer seeking drug particles. Using a precisely timed half life formula this brings strong "juice" to all active cancer sites and does a thorough job of stomping on any active disease cells........ Doug spent most of a day in a lead lined room for this one....Hot stuff...... I swear to you he was up talking props within hours.

Stage 2 (Sunday (9/15). Massive Chemo dose irradicates all living bone marrow....and then he called the shop.

Stage 3 (Tuesday 9/17) Reintroduction of his own stem cells (auto-transplant). Doug now has to reconstruct his internal immune system from scratch................ I believe he has decided to do this in half the normal time, because .......... He's Doug.

Fellow OSO'ers you can talk all you want about the "Legends of Offshore"...and I knew/know most of them............... With all that, this is the most single minded, courageous display of grit and focus I've ever had the privelege to be a part of.

We love ya buddy............... Now get home and fix Bud's transmission.

Way to go Doug. Just kick the **** out of that stuff and get back to boating. After this rebuilding an engine will be like childs play. Good to see you are in good spirits. 99% of the battle is attitude...a good one.:D

Easy downhill ride from hear Right Doug!!! :D:D The hardest part is done. Good to see you are surrounded by friends and family to keep your spirits high, although it seems that you are keeping their spirits high with your drive and determination. I will say good luck but I think you are making your own :D:D

I'm glad to hear that. I have kept in contact with Leanne and hope to meet with Doug before he leaves the area. Thank God we have a facility such as Fred Hutchinsons to provide such state-of-the-art treatment. My prayers have been and will be with Doug and Leanne through this extremely tough time.

had the pleasure of meeting doug at the point race we had a last minute problem and we needed some help with a fuel problem
they hooked us up big time . they found the part even after the computer said they did not have it...doug showed up we told him the symptoms and "oh it's the regulator" ......and it was !
thanks to all dougs crew forthe help p.s. ....doug was on his way to the airport to leave when he droped by good luck and
keep up the fight:D :D :D

My dad survived cancer. I think that the people who go through the treatments are truly courageous. Please send my prayers, thoughts and wishes for Doug's speedy recovery to him and his wife.

The minor role Pat and I played is pale by comparison to the courage that Doug has maintained and the generosity that has flowed from all of Doug's supporters, yourself included, both financially and in forwarding your prayers and good will.
