You know Cuda, you may be right...
I think the 30' Y2K w/ the 496 Mag is $49,800. The 496 HO is a few thousand more, but don't quote me.

I sure do like that 30. I love the built in stairs in the cabin door. The problem I see is the fact that the door is hinged on the top and has to swing all the way up to gain access(correct me if I'm wrong). This means that you can't access the cabin or leave the door open while under way. Plus it looks like it would limit the seat width and placement. There will alway have to be room between the seats for the door to swing up. Beyond that, I absolutely love it.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the Y2K with the 496 Mag tops out @ 68 mph. The 496 HO brings that up several mph and I think a single HP525 will send this thing into the mid to lower 80's. Talking about a serious bang for the buck in a new reliable boat! John likes to build functional and attractive light weight boats that are highly reliable. He'll build anything you what, but he's big on turn-key boats that run like hell all day long on stock EFI (warrantied) Mer-cruiser power. These boats are very low maintenance (and low dollars) compared to other boats of similar size and speed. How many 30' boats do you know of that can be had new that will turn these speeds with stock single power... and still handle big water?

I can't believe he's not selling the hell out of these things!!!
