Future of Outerlimits?
RIP Mr. Fiore.
Is Outerlimits still accepting orders for new boats? Any word on who may be leading that company in the future? Also, does Whipple have any stake in the ownership of the company? I am just curious you know if somebody is going to make a large purchase SV52 if it will be backed with support etc in the long run. Thank you for your time, |
While it was exceptionally sad that Mike Fiore passed away, he left behind not only his family and friends but some truly talented individuals who have proven to be more than capable of running the company, and producing world class boats. You only need to look at the boats they have produced since he passed to see they are more than up to the task. I wouldn't hesitate for a second.
|
Whipple does not have any stake in the company. There are two major partners and one very small percentage partner. They build incredible boats and I wish nothing but the best for them.
|
They owned Hustler back in the day and the father may still be involved in OL so my guess good people?
|
We all miss Mike Fiore terribly, but ol is in very very capable hands from the top on down, suffice it to say " mike surrounded himself with great people". Several boats are in production right now, if I could afford it I would be ordering a 43 sv right now!
|
Seems like they have there act together as far as building boats these days they sure do make great boats!! I hear they are booked with orders right into next year
|
I ordered mine after Mike passed away and it was built ond delivered ontime, finished and rigged to the same hi quality as my first one that was built by Mike. Dan Kleitz , Paul Fiore and the rest of the crew are very capable and are continuing to produce boats of the highest quality and performance. Mike would be proud..

Friend of mine just dropped his boat off at the factory for some minor repairs last week. He said the factory was very busy with good pipeline of new orders. Brand is strong, I suspect they will be a major factory in the high performance boat market for a long time.
Kudos to Dan K. and team! GS |
On top of the Factory people, there was a small dealer network that sold/sell Outerlimits boats as well, PERFORMANCE BOAT CENTER being one of them. They are VERY capable of handling any needs you may have. Warranty work etc many times is done at the dealer level. Outerlimits builds the hull and interior, from their everything else comes from outside suppliers, Mercury, Livorsi, etc...
Fear not... |

Every time they deliver a new boat, I'm more and more impressed. What a product.

I believe meant that the network is small, for as we all know Performance Boat Center is not.
There is only a few dealers that took on Outerlimits as a dealer, PBC was one of them. Thus the boats in the showroom, and the extensively trained techs to work on what they need! |
Strange first and only post....almost seems like someone trying to stir up sh!t.
|
I don't believe for a second that anyone looking at commissioning a boat on the level of an 52 Outerlimits would be this unfamiliar with what is currently going on with the brand and would be asking on a forum. Seems like a loaded post to me also. Btw the newest OL with the big logo on the side is stunning to say the least. Glad to see the company still building top notch products.

We all can agree Outerlimits is one of the top offshore powerboat manufactures
We all can agree OL builds a cool product We all can agree OL has done well since the unfortunate events Really doesn't matter if you follow the industry a little or a lot there is no reason to doubt the company as having a positive future.......unless the OP has some inside info they would like to share? Obviously they thread was to stir the pot I personally hope that everything continues to work out in a positive manner, no matter if they are or are not any skeletons in the closet. Would it be interesting to have an update or report on how everything is being sorted out internally? Sure, but with the Politics that go on in this industry we will never know the truth anyways so who really cares. Just more drama to add to the view count on OSO! |
Darr you go again, stirring up trouble. You silly goose.

Not at all, I am new to the (fast) boat world. I have owned several larger Sea Rays in the past but now things are much better and have been researching fast boats in recent days and when I came across the 52SV my heart dropped. that's the one I have to have. It is symmetrically perfect, love the V hull (want a cabin) and would look amazing sitting in the shop next to the new GT350/R (suppose to be delivered in March). I am a man of the sea and am getting anxious not being on the water lately. Id launch this boat out of Oceanside (live in San Diego).
yes I am new to this. Stirring up trouble? not at all. My only questions are what options are available on the boat besides engine options. Custom Vinyl Wrap? Cabin? Materials? Colors? Yes I know you can do all of that but I am curious what OL offers out of the box. My only other question is how wide the boat is. I know it's a V but it does look kind of narrow (long and skinny) compared to other boats of this caliber. Im sure its part of the functional design but something about the low, wide look really gets me. Perhaps I just need to see it in person. and I REALLY like how it has a removable hard top for those big pacific swells. Does it become air tight? Is o2 available in the cabin? Also a '15 6.7L Powerstroke should handle this fine? I see some guys with dedicated F650's for their offshore boats, but the 6.7L Powerstroke has a 31,200 lb tow rating. I think the 52SV is close to 5 tons and even with trailer it shouldnt even reach half the towing capacity of the diesel? Thanks for the replies, guys. |
1. Go to Robertos and get a carne asada burrito, freeze it and next day it to me....
2nd. Outerlimits is a CUSTOM builder, So as far as options, there arent any per say, you dream it, they build it. You dont order options or packages, you sit down with them and tell them how you want them to build your boat.. You want a race canopy with full time air, they can do that, you want a bobble skirted hula girl on the dash with pina colada scented air conditioning in the cabin, they can do that, you want refrigerated cupholders, they can do that.... 3. as for the truck,I lived in san diego for 20+ years, Say you decide to go to havazoo..... your comming down the rainbow grade on 15, or just one of the hills on 5 , you want all the truck you can get infront of it. |
Phragle pretty much nailed it, options are anything you can afford.

I think Key West will be a good indication that Outerlimits is here to stay and stronger than ever!

I asked this on the OL forum a few days ago. But after being in key west this year and seeing so many cc's I was wondering if OL is sill planning on introducing a new cc model or is the project shelved for now? And it was great seeing so many OL's in key west. Miss it already
