I heard from a source of mine through someone at Mercury the motor will be available in the US to come. 40k is around what they are thinking and NO warranty.
I think that will change and in order to sell them they will need a warranty.
But here is the question. The motor looks awesome. But why pay 40k and get no warranty when you can get a 20" version for 27k with up 4yrs warranty?????? Math does not work for me.

Lol.. I was told 1 year warranty as well and production would not be available for USA for at least 10 months because of supply and demand committed for Xcat series. Mercury don't have enough employees to produce enough. Was exactly what they told me. Glad to here others have the same damn help problems I have...

$9090.00 MSRP for 3 years of MPP Platinum coverage on the 400R. Florida's laws require extended warranty contracts be sold for MSRP, but you do not have to buy extended coverage from a FL dealer. Since we are in LA, our MPP prices are NOWHERE near MSRP. They are almost 50% cheaper than MSRP.

[QUOTE=Double Rigged;4375677]Thanks Dave, From what I hear the 3 extra years don't come cheap either. But my point is with the 20" version why buy the ROS?
I hope that they offer a version for the US with warranty as well. I think it will depend on how many o/b cats want them.[/QUOTE
Very good point with warranty offer on 20in 400r. If i could afford it i still wouldn't buy one. ROS needs to have warranty if mercury wants them to sell and needs to be more than one year like lightspeed stated. Reasons been i don't see anyone buying a new boat with warranty to have motors with one or no warranty. Most people that buy new stuff use it for a year or two and sell it and the greatest selling pitch is still under warranty.
