If you want to appreciate the subtle differences between Americans and Canadians consider this analogy...Americans think they are Superman; Canadians think they are Clark Kent. And that anthem singing has happened before...

Canadians say washroom. We say toilet, bathroom, dump-a-torium.

Five man Electrical band should be right near the top and yes we have F-18s
I've learned that even tho our allies have some of our same aircraft, they really aren't the "SAME" if you know what I mean. Hey it only makes sense right. |

We did upgrade the communications and radar on our F18's in the early 2000's.
Up till 1982 Canada was still flying the F100. Even in the 70's this plane was very outdated. Canada tried making a deal with Iran to buy the F14's America sold them in the early 70's. Iran backed out of the deal when it discovered Canada's smuggling Americans out of Iran during the hostage crisis. The U.S. decided they wanted 100% control over the F14, so no spare parts could go to Iran. So we cut a deal for the F18 instead. If we did get the Iranian F14's and ordered a few more. Canada would be still flying them instead of the F18. |
