I understand how you feel, weather can get to me too. Over here all I see is hot weather and it gets a little boring after years of the same.

Some days it's so hot even the monkeys take to the water for relief.

Sometimes it's too hot to sunbake for more than 5 minutes.

Occasionally we get wet to cool down.

Sometimes it's just better to eat well.

(Brings back memories of the boats I've owned here. Loved them all, not sure what's next?)

Ice is forming in the cove in front of my house. It was about 25 degrees out when I woke up this morning. I guess it is time to stop fooling around with boat motors and get the sleds and ice car ready. :(

Matt, Is that in Moultonborough Bay?

donzi matt 11-25-2015 07:47 AM

Salmon Meadow Cove, it's a small cove on the Center Harbor side of Moultonborough. The cove is only 10-15 feet deep at the deepest point so it tends to freeze quickly and ice out quickly in the spring. The kids will be ice skating on it by Christmas typically.

I'm 16 houses out from Trexler's Marina on the main land side, looking at Gunstock. We won't see ice for some time.

Doubt I could adjust to the cold winters but I have to say, some of you guys have fabulous toys to play with when winter sets in. You also get to look out on some beautiful landscapes and water views.

You may occasionally complain about your winters but from an outsiders pov, it looks stunning.

The end of boating season just means that mudding season is starting. Plenty of fun still to be had without freezing

I live for sledding, so of course I'll jump in.
Same town as DonziMatt, I'm just on the other side of a large penninsula from him.
1st pic, sons ice fishing field trip located conventiently 100+ yards from my house. Nothing like being a chapperone (sp?) to your kids field trip and going by sled. LOL. That's my sled sneaking in the photo on the right.
2nd pic - view from top of mountain you see on 1st pic
3rd pic - 2 bays down from where we live. Me, wife, and son going out to lunch.
4th pic - sun setting over my 'backyard playground'. Taken sitting on my sled.

Ski season...yay!!

KRAUSMOTORSPORTS 11-26-2015 09:26 AM

Nice pad! Hoping to have waterfront in the near future. But waterfront cost in Md with good water is nearly impossible. Taxes are 6k plus a year. Besides I love the Floridians posting pics. I'm an HVAC tech and i'm usually on roofs all winter long. So sitting in my truck going through some post makes me just feel warm! Everywinter at my dads house it freezes over and we can play hockey as long as the ice isn't' chop! But our winter skies do look gorgeous!

turbofox54 11-26-2015 09:28 AM

Hopefully I'll get a chance to get back home to NH this winter and go riding. Winter in the mid Atlantic region suck...cold enough to put away summer toys but never get enough snow to ride on.

KRAUSMOTORSPORTS 11-26-2015 09:33 AM

Cache River Arkansas last week! 5" of rain forecasted this weekend so boating season will last all year!

Canuck B Crazy 11-26-2015 04:05 PM

What I like about here, its mostly 40 to 50 during winter and rarely snows. We had snow once last year and it lasted 3 days. Boat show in January is jeans and sweatshirt weather, we could actually go boating. If you want snow we have 5 or 6 ski mountains in our back yard. You can snowmobile at most of them. Snow for the most part stays in the mountains.

thirdchildhood 11-26-2015 07:41 PM

Those sleds look so awesome compared to the old machines. I remember when a 440 was a big deal.

buck35 11-27-2015 03:35 PM

The places you can get to on today's longer track sleds is amazing. Not to mention the incredible suspension systems you can get now.
