A Wavecrusher Worth Saving
|
That would be well worth saving, maybe move it to NYC and turn it into a hotel, edit maybe the Miami Marine Stadium needs it more.
|
It's only hope would be to convert it to a center console with outboards.
|
They probably spent more trying to save it and going no where then it cost to build it in the first place.
|
Cool, but just what the hell do you do with a ship like that? Make it into a great lakes Cruise ship?

Seriously it is a ship worth keeping. 900 feet long 44mph and no stinking steps. Padraig |

Impressive speed, but still no match for an aircraft carrier.
How fast will a modern carrier go? Padraig |
I need to start a "save my boat" fundraiser :party-smiley-048:

>33 kts is the stated speed for a Nimitz class carrier but the true top speed is classified. The Enterprise was even faster than the Nimitz class carriers. I haven't seen the info on the new Ford class yet. The Forrestal class were built in the 50's and were rated at 34 kts. I don't know about the other carriers because I was never on them but I know the Nimitz class are much faster than their stated speed.
