Baby Cats?
I was looking through a boat trader the other day an saw an ad for a mini Ocean Cat, it looked to be about 15 ft. long w/a 115hp. Johnson. That thing looks like it would be fun as hell on flat water.
Does anyone have any experience with boats like theese? How stable are theese things, also what kind of speeds are they reaching? |

My best friend had one for about a week- it hooked very bad and tossed him out. We grew up with Steams, it was not his first rodeo with fast boats- he has a river racer with a 15" EFI. You may want to drive one and feel the characterictics judging the boat to your comfort level prior to a commitment.
Scott may have just had bad luck that day, but he shipped it down the road after that happened. Here's a picture of Scott and myself testing hulls for Glastron back in 75'. That boat made at least 20 or so island jumps prior to not surviving a tug boat wake- we went through it. Glastron gave us another boat to torture.:) |
Holy Chit MoneyShot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that looks like fun:cool: |
looks like some competition for Sharkey!:D

Speaking of mini-cats, check out this post from the other day on one of the offshore racing forums:
i am looking at buying a boat this spring. it is a 13 foot mini catamaran. probably will power it with a 50 or 75hp outboard. what class would this fit in? what are the rules for this class? btw, i am from Columbus Ohio, anyone racing in the midwest need any help? I thought of responding and telling him he should run Super Cat.:D |
