Pretty awesome stuff!

What is it about this engine that allows 2400ft-lbs of torque on 93 Octane from 753 cu in.? Is it just 'leaned-on" that hard? I thought a 750" BBC on 93 would struggle to make half of that?

Do 2 V8's bolted together count?

Sounds about right. predicted -- 753CID x 1.30tq/CID = 979hp x 20 pounds boost (14.7+20 / 14.7) = 2310 tq
That is a very stout well built designed motor.

So what drive can hold it? Arneson?
How about a pair of them in a 40' cat or V

SB 12-09-2015 11:20 AM

Yup, 20 psi from a combined 4 turbos, and don't forget twice the # of power events per crank revolution (8 for a 16 cyl vs 4 for a 8cyl) and since a clean sheet build the heads probably have very shallow valve angles, raised runners, small + effecient combustion chambers, etc, etc, etc.

I'm sure this engine cost a ton of $$$$ and countless hrs of designing and building.

Pretty awesome achievement, even if nothing happens from here.

what became of the engine platform ?

All of the Torque stuff is in Georgia now. A buddy of mine bought everything after they shut the program down.

Thanks for the info. Do you think the engine will ever be reborn? Seemed like a really neat well balanced and sized power plant. Was it just the economy at the time and not enough purchasers.

I hear there are some other new designed V16's in the works that will actually be affordable, all of this is cool stuff!
