Interesting skater

A friend sent me some pics of a skater getting painted and it looks like a barn find. Says torque power on the side and has those engines in it. Doesn't look to have been run in a long time. Didn't see many boats with those for power

That is interesting, V12 with mechanical fuel injection.

I think Torque was part of the Callan companies at one point.

Wow, beautiful. Nice find...

that boat was in loto area last i heard. used to have some old photos of it. was in poor shape. and it was missing one of those lambo v12 isnt it? or it was at one time. i think i remember the price being real reasonable for what it was.. but trying to track down a maraniezed lambo v12 would be a pain. or just totally repowering the boat with different power would be crazy money too unless used a doner boat. still a cool boat. whats the plan for it? whose painting it

Somehow I'm remembering this powerboat for sale years back on a lot right before the bridge crossing over to Seaside Heights NJ. I hoped TORQUE would go, but I'm not sure why they didn't. There's a story about TORQUE somewhere, I believe a top engine builder tried to sort it out.

I'm trying to get the story. It is at pro body in Washington MO

Was Torque any relation to the Falconer V12 from the early 90's?

Wobble 12-26-2015 09:52 AM

mechanical fuel injection is a pita on a v8 sprint car, but at least we can back them down when they hydro-lock with fuel, re-tuning them as atmospheric conditions change is a constant.

I cant imagine nor would I ever expect success with that system on a V-12. Convert to electronic injectors or even carbs and then you may have something.

Very cool even so.
