Marine Mechanic School

Does anyone have some info they could share about the career of a marine mechanic? I'm mostly looking for school information. I would like this to be as close to Columbus, Ohio as possible.

Vocational schools

Hyperbaja
I went to a vocational school in Minnesota for marine engine repair. There are state vocational schools in all parts of the country. I am sure there are quite a few in Ohio. It really isn't that hard to become a marine mechanic. The best way to do it is to get a job for a Merc outboard or Mercruiser dealer being a rigger. If you are any good, after a few years, they will send you to factory school to be a mechanic. If it doesn't happen it is easy to find a dealer that will. Once you have worked for a dealer you will always be able to find a job. The marine industry really needs people with some experience (it doesn't have to be much).
Good Luck!
Sincerely
