GM produced these engines for Fire engines taking 2 Buck V6 ( about 300 cu inc each) and putting them together. The Hot Rod here has the BPM engine that is Italian Produced (Lamborghini?) that was available for a while. It is a SOHC V12- that they even installed in some of the Blue Thunders back in the early 80's. I saw one at Cat Cay pull in for fuel. The dock shook from those engines idling....

A few corrections. It is manufactured by BPM Marine (which is still in business and still producing the BPM surface drives) in Italy, (not Lamborghini) and it is not a SOHC engine. It has a conventional location for the camshaft and the hemi rockers are pushrod driven. The enclosed picture shows the engine in the 55 chassis in 2010 when the project was just started. Note the 6 48mm Weber DOHC carbs that were stock on this engine. After many attempts to make the Webers "work" we gave up and spent over 100 hours building a custom intake for 3 Holley 600cfm carbs.

Here is a shot of the water "log", which is a section of 1.5"x3" rectangular tubing that the 10 water ports, 5 from each head, connect to and then flow to the front and eventually connect to the upper hose of the radiator. It is barely seen under the start of the 12 tubes that will eventually become the intake runners.

Here is the start of the intake on top of the "water log". You are just able to see the front end of the rectangular tubing (water log) that will eventually be capped and a single 1.25" outlet welded on to connect it to the upper inlet of the radiator.

FYI, the engines, in the above link, are the ones referred to by Mike in post #6 and not the engine I have in my 55 manufactured by BPM Marine.
