Insurance for a motor

I have a 500efi that will need a complete rebuild. I have heard that people have filed an insurance claim and had them pay for the rebuild. Can anyone confirm or offer any advice in this matter.

What caused it to need a rebuild???? A mechanical failure or normal wear and tear from use is not covered.

An accident and boat sinks, it might be covered to some extent.
