I would think a torsion axle would handle the tight turn stress better than a leafed due to the rubber absorbing the pressure as the tire skids along the pavement. That said the first time I watched my friend back his boat with a triple axle trailer I couldn't believe how much force was being put on the sidewalls of the tires, not to mention bearings and any and everything else.

All I can tell you is our experience, with that said we operate these in NJ, NY Boros, Philly and into lower CT - I think we can agree these roughest roads in the country! We run right near the rated capacity every mile the trailers move. - Example 6k axle should have +/- 3k rated tires, you watch a loaded tractor trailer run down a bumpy road the sidewalls have lots of flex - Centrifugal force makes a tire look un-flexed not a stronger sidewall, they all havesidewall bulge. A drag slick looks flat sitting at the line, at 200 mph the sidewall is stiff as a board but hit a bump it will flex. You take the flex out of the tire, something else has to absorb that now.

Is there such a thing as an over built trailer?
I don't think others on the road would think so.
If you need to save money, go with a cheaper boat.

I've seen a trailer built for a 32 Skater that was a very nice looking setup, strong, and seems to be a quality build.

I has a Rolls Axle under my last boat. I was very pleased with it.

Mycos are pricey for sure but well worth it. We currently have 4 myco trailers and 2 cradles and wouldn't buy anything else.

Check out Integrity trailer here in west michigan, they make really nice trailers. I've pulled some to Florida , they pull just as nice as my Myco's .
