We lost a member today. RIP Robert Nelems aka 'MagicFloat'
I was sad to hear the news that MaigcFloat, Robert Nelems lost his battle with cancer this morning.
Robert was one of my first dealers as a new and "green" rep for PowerQuest at the beginning of my career. I learned so much from his wisdom and experience in addition to his personal views on how to do business the right way.. He was a well respected Formula dealer that did business on a handshake and always was a pleasure to have as a business partner and friend. Robert was a true veteran of our industry and will surely be missed. God Speed Mr Nelems. Mark |
I did not know this gentleman, but I know the tragic loss of a loved one.
The Nelem's will be in my prayers. |
That is very saddening to hear. Robert was a HUGE asset to this forum back in the day; as he was a Charter member, with a very low member number (415). He helped a LOT of people with Formula boats; and the majority of those were not people he had sold too.
Great guy, and may "MagicFloat" Rest In Peace. https://www.facebook.com/robert.nelems http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/m...agicfloat.html |
So sorry to hear, Robert was a gift to the Formula forum, such a nice guy and was always happy to talk boats, especially Formulas.. Rest in Peace Sir.

Sorry to hear - RIP

Sorry to hear this he was always pleasant to deal with. I bought a few parts off of him when I had the Formula race boat.

Sad news. Thanks for letting us know though. :(

Very sorry to hear! I bought my 292 from Robert. We drove down to Jasper, AL in November 2005 and did a shake down cruise on Smith Lake. Robert worked us out a great deal and was a pleasure doing business. A true gentlemen and all around nice guy. RIP Robert.:(

Robert Nelem started his business in Jasper, Alabama near Smith Lake. He brought the Formula brand to North Alabama ind introduced boaters there to one of the best boats in the business. I met him once there and a few times down here at the Miami Boat Show.
He was a true professional and very kind...he will be missed. God Speed. |
