Boat Lift Question
 

I have a 1979 Formula 302LS. I'm looking for a vertical lift wondering if anyone has suggestions. I have a dock with approx 4' of water. Not really interested in the bladder type lift. I have one for my smaller boat and not a fan of it. My trailer has 20' bunks. All of the lifts locally available have bunks in the 12 - 15' range. Just how short can I go with my bunks before I do damage or the boat will be too unstable?

15' bunks is plenty. I have 16' bunks for the 30' boat i had, and they were more than enough. I have a 4 post lift with about 4'-5' of water, depending on water levels.

Tough to imagine that 15 foot bunks will work but that's a good length.!! all the weights in the rear..

. Too long and the bunks can run off the front chines and be a issue. youll still have a good center and remember to leave the tip of the bunk even or slightly past the transom.

My bunks are certainly not any longer than 15' and that is for my Cafe which is 35'.

Correct, I had 16' on my lift for a 35' mistress back in the day. No issue. Weights in the rear. Center of gravity .

Boat lifts ard great! The boat stays cleaner and......you sleep better knowing your boat is high and dry.

Why wont the short bunks on the lift distort the bottom of the boat like short trailer bunks would do?

Dynamic ver static weight. You still need to support the back past transom.

U have to support at least up to to leading edge of the windshield
