Any one knows? :) My first boat in 78. The hull is probably a 76 or so. Motor is new in 78.

No idea on the boat but Barnaby Jones wants his car back and his nephew Jebediah wants his shirt back too!

Whatever it is it sure looks dated even for 1978. You sure the boat isn't a 1968?

Boat was raced with twin OB. In 76-77. I bought it in 78, no power, added the new evinrude. May be 75 but not earlier.

No.... But I will give a hint. They (original co. ) still makes boats, but now it's pretty much all "offshore". No ski boats. Well known and respected boats.

tommymonza 02-29-2016 09:47 PM

Glass stream

mike tkach 02-29-2016 09:59 PM

spill the beans slow, the suspense is killing me!

innerrage 03-01-2016 02:36 AM

glasstron

mptrimshop 03-01-2016 04:25 AM

I'm going glastron

rak rua 03-01-2016 05:26 AM

It does look very Glastron but the clue in post #10 says they still make boats but only for offshore. Glastron don't build offshore stuff do they?

I think it's a trick question and I'm going with Carlson High Performance Boats. (Art Carlson). Not sure what the current name is but that's my guess.....!

RR

Edit: There may be a link between Carlson and Contender. Mmm?

payuppsucker 03-01-2016 06:51 AM

MTI or DCB:lolhit:

PARADOX 03-01-2016 07:40 AM

Hmm.. OK a few more hints. There were only a few models available, back in the 70's. The earlier models had a rounded bow. Similar to the Hydrostream boats, different deck and hull. Then a bit later, pretty pointed bow. Almost "beak" like, but no not an early fountain. lol.

tommymonza 03-01-2016 07:52 AM

Excalibur?

buck35 03-01-2016 08:50 AM

hydrostream is the only thing that comes to mind from that clue, but do they make anything offshore-ish?

baronmarine 03-01-2016 10:33 AM

i'm going with switzer. or and i can not remember the name. seems like it started with sch something?? a west coast boat that i think they still ski race with. maybe 21 - 23' range now??

todd

tommymonza 03-01-2016 10:36 AM

Schiada

tommymonza 03-01-2016 10:37 AM

I think Checkmate is the answer

buck35 03-01-2016 11:38 AM

No clue needed. Lottowontopgun got it. There were several around the Midwest. It is a Hustler. If you zoom in on the pic. you can see the Hustler name on the trim tabs. Great little fast boat. I actually miss it. :)

LOTOWONTOPGUN 03-01-2016 08:58 PM

Since old school boat brands names here - how about concept for the future but back in 2002 way ahead of its time. Wake tower incorporated as well.

Anyone remember this from SCAD Education in GA ?

Cobalt did a concept boat as well.

These were offered in Florida back in the early 2000's. Classic looks with Merc jet power
