I met JR years ago at the Clearwater race and talked to him many times both in Clearwater and in Key West. As a fan it was amazing how friendly and welcoming he was to me and my family, taking the time to invite us into the Stihl trailer for a tour and always giving us some t-shirts and taking the time to chat about the boat, his setup, the venue, and weather/sea condition forecast for race day, whatever. He was genuine, sincere, and passionate about boat racing and it's fans. To us, he was a rock-star, always a class act and the ultimate ambassador to the sport.

My condolences to his family, and the sport of offshore powerboat racing and its fans. We have all lost a great friend.

Sad for us yes .
Even more so for his family.
Some in his family are involved in the sport as well.

Thank you to JR.and his close associates for helping promote our sport which he loved
He was positive we needed tv.
So he helped make it happen.
As the sport grows quickly due to his involvement .we will always be appreciative of his help pushing forward
Thank you to his family .
No one will miss him more than you im sure.
