HORBA Thunderboat Rally Sarasota March 12th
 

HORBA is having our first THUNDERBOAT RALLY in Sarasota Florida on Saturday March 12, 2016.

This will be the first of these events so things will be a bit loose.

First...NO ENTRY FEE.

Registration begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 12th at the 10th street ramp in Sarasota.

The run will depart from the 10th street ramp at NOON on Saturday March 12th.

We will proceed north to the Manatee River and then up the river to the Blu Mangrove Grill and Restaurant in Palmetto for lunch.

After lunch, we will return back to the 10th Avenue boat ramp.

Any boat built before the year 2000 can run with us.

We will have some HORBA Board Members in attendance for lunch, so you can ask them some questions on Old School racing.

The idea of the run is to give the owners of old school boats a chance to use their boats with other owners of the same period boats.

Why such short notice. Lets see if I can show up with my Bertram 38. Haul truck is down for repairs.

Hmm.. yeahh. A bit short. I was reading a few stuff in the other section, but this needs a bit more heads up on the "main stream". I will be out of town, so no go either way. :(

Trying to get some traction with the old boats and some places where they can be seen.

Understand we have the 30 foot Velocity, Still Crazy III and the big Popeye's 45 Cougar coming. Plus a Skater cat with new Innovation engines.

The Dockmaster at the other restauran,t said he could not handle the number of boats we expect.

Everyone is welcome even if you don't have a boat come for lunch and see the old race boats.
