1000 hp at 3400 rpm? For 1000 hours? From a 5,9 - 6,7 l engine!!
Sorry..Thats impossible.. ..Been tried SO many times..

5.9 Crank in a 6.7 Block should do it

Maybe you could add a meth injection kit to the engines for that extra temporary 200 hp bump, or at least for part of it.

He doesn't understand the word impossible. Maybe not accomplished yet, but not impossible.

Yep.

I heard this Tyson fellow has never heard of the word CAN'T.

It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I think Copelands old catamaran project might have seen the expectations that Al expected out of it if Tyson would have finished it.

Good luck with it all.

I might not have tried but since it's impossible I will definitely try to do it. Thanks.

Tyson

motors will be a test / methanol on 100% of run time w select settings w huge tanks very cheap fuel get cooling / turbos can be cleaned polished w billet larger compressor wheels and or twins or compound turbos , trick is to lower back pressure much as possible = run correctly / ucc is NOT any kind of durability test , couple seconds on a dyno does not equal a monster cat boat / 14 or 15 to 1 compression / kid turbo may be in the know /

I've tuned several LLY's through LMM's for boats with and without a DSP5 switch option. Works same as in trucks, so a Cummins with stock ECM would be no different. However the Bosch MS ECM's allow for better control of several fuel and timing factors that become critical at higher power levels. It's switchable levels also, just costs 10k for the ECM plus a harness.

At the UCC event in Indy last month I witnessed several Cummins and Duramax engines making near or over 2000hp on the dyno. For about 2 seconds tops. The event started with about 30 trucks, and less than half those survived all 3 events which consisted of about 20 seconds total WOT time.... There in lies your biggest problem.

These small cubic inch engines that are making huge numbers are either solid billet blocks or concrete filled cast, meaning no water passages. So while that might be perfect for a shootout setup, not gonna get more than a couple minutes run time. One of the top 5 competitors has the exact same stroker engine my friend tried in a boat. That one made it 4hrs on the water, the last 40 seconds were at wide open.

Couple people at Indy mentioned to me someone is looking for a pr of 1200hp diesels for a boat. Couldn't imagine who? lol. I said try one on a engine dyno at that power level for a hour, and please invite me to watch. Only problem now is finding someone to drop a 100k on that experiment. :-)

So would a Merc 1650 be be a more cost effective and efficient setup with a warranty ?
