Anyone know of any other places that could either make a water jacketed header for it or jacket this one? |
Why not sticking with the stock cast marine manifold for strength .

When we first started this project the engines we wanted were the Audi diesels they used in the lemans race car. They were 750 hp and only weight 500 lbs. we planned on using 4 of them and would have a little better hp and mileage then in the race car by not having to meet racing rules. They would have had the high rpm and would have been set up to run on 2 if we needed so there would be less chance of getting stranded. There is a warehouse overseas that has 20 of them sitting in it and they will not sell them. I tried for a long time to get one and never got to the right person. If anyone has a high enough contact at Audi racing I would still like to get two for my cigarette gladiator and use it to do v-bottom records.
Diemax High Performance Diesel Engines - V12 High Performance I'm sure they can help, they completely designed and built this engine. If you look at the specs it's based on the same Audi engine. If you need any help translating or something just ask. |
Why not keep it simple and stick with dry manifolds and lag them.
Piece of mind, no cracks to worry's about or water going back into the cylinders the design can be tweaked at leisure if turbo configuration needs changing. |
There also a lot lighter than water jacked headers, especially by the time you fill them with water.

Piece of mind, no cracks to worry's about or water going back into the cylinders the design can be tweaked at leisure if turbo configuration needs changing. they have just brought out this new(to me) material called pyrogel that is very water resistant (water rolls around like mercury on it). Its about 3/8ths of an inch thick. Im thinking two staggered layers and covered in .024 stainless jacket would last very well. if not, disregard. |
What waste-gate you using as i don't see it in the photos.
