Thinking about the Chicago to Detroit run? I think in the 80's Don Johnson and Walter Payton tried to do it, and if I remember right, they lost a prop or had mechanical issues up in the Straights of Mackinaw. I do remember them flying by Port Huron, people were lined up along the shoreline to see them go by.
Maybe we can get Chuck Norris to race us? Shouldn't he be able to swim that fast? |

Tyson, are you going to have any protection from the sun during the day while running or if something happens and you have to limp in?
Great project I am more than impressed with your knowledge and the project. So much more than just the pop up snap guy LOL or I will just use an umbrella like I did on the way to Bermuda when we realized we did not have sunblock. |

With your detail skills this kind of thing must hold your attention. And you probably, finally, have something to show the shop guys that will draw their interest. :drink:

Have you seen how tall she is? A normal sized person's knees would not even be close to the dash. I will attach an image for reference.
We ended up moving the seat back about 4 more inches then where it was in her picture. I had a big guy sit in the seat a few days ago and his knees were closer then I would like so we will probably cut the bottom of the dash up a little bit higher. For me and Chris that will be in the drivers seats most of the time there is around 10" to the dash from my knee's and mine are just below the bottom edge. We will have 5 point seatbelts on which will stop us from moving forward that far. |

We wanted to have radar on the boat and thought about having it on the bottom of a deck hatch and flip it over when we need it, But that would be hard on it and if we took a wave over the bow it would knock it off. So we decided it needed to be at the back of the boat but be high enough to look over the windshield. After some debate we decided to make a shark fin with the radar and our satellite uplink on it with the top several inches on the front of the shark fin being our air intake for the engine compartments and an opening up high in the back of it for exit air. The engine hatches are solid with no openings so any water from rough seas would have to make it to the middle of the boat and up a few feet to get into the engine compartments. Here are a few of our first renderings of what we wanted, then the mold I was making to build it.
