I'm guessing those are QSB7's, made in NC. The KTA19 engines, some are made in Pune India.For a number of years now, the Indian made engines have had issues with dropping liners, usually #5 (in my case #2 and 5) blowing the head gaskets pressurizing the cooling systems. Cummins affectionately calls these engines their 'problem child" but not so affectionately to those who own one or more. I may be way off base on this but for a project such as yours an extra measure of assurance can't hurt. Last I heard the failure rate was above 50% and many as early as 100 hours into service.

The test of any man/woman is how they face adversity...that said, I thought with showing the intended engines off in public they were a done deal.

Other than the obvious weight/balance and top end upset, will the Cummins perform in the general realm of what you are after with the 50'er?

Not having the top end speed of having fun is really the only down side. We should still be able to beat every long distance (over 300 miles) endurance record in the world with the cummins.

The dash is getting a little closer. We went with the 9" Simrad's for Vessel view engine monitor's.

You will like the Cummins 6.7 550 HP we have run ours for more than 2 years and have had zero failures in our 48 with surface drives.

The front and back seats are mounted, and seat belts installed. The seat belts have all stainless latches and parts. They are an H belt, where the shoulder strap is sewn to the lap belt, that way you only have one connection in the middle of a 4 point harness. I went with the aircraft style latch because they are the easiest to latch and un-latch for normal people.
