McLeod: Out of business again?

Friend wants to convert manual bolsters to powered but heard McLeod shut the doors again. What happened this time?

If 100 % that they are gone again - it has to be the sportboat market is just totally dead as we all know. Most anything built currently for the high performance these days that is selling some - are using sitdown seats. DCM - MTI - Skater and then we have the CC boats. Nothing is really selling as for the V hull true sportboat. Maybe Nordic and Some Cigs.

How many Sunny's V hulls were built in the last 15 months - under 10 - correct ?

Dont they have any of the center console market?

I would be stunned if they built 5 sport boats in the last 15 months, they are heavy on the CC side of the business.

Formula uses McLeod interiors on their sport boats also. Baja, Black Thunder had used them in the past.

The Performance market is not dead... Look at LOTO. Boats are selling VERY well. Waves and Wheels, Marine Concepts, and numerous other interior companies are weeks out on schedule. People that are needing things done are not afraid to travel to get it done right.

McLeod was bought out by some outfit called HRT, a project manager named Miraj posted his number on here last summer as 248-284-1170 EXT 113. Not sure if your friend contacted them, or if they're still around.

I am still waiting a reply as I was looking for a under seat panel..

I emailed them and asked who's taking over...

That is the portion that stays with the upper seat back.. The seat where it drops has a cover panel that hide the framework for the bottom seat.

What would be my next move or whom is handling the product currently ?

Matt

I would have to agree. There isn't a lot of new performance boats being built due to the cost but the used market has come back in a big way. Try finding a nice clean well cared for boat. There isn't as many as a couple years ago. Most local companies can take car of redoing the seats.

10 years ago the manufacturers were booming. Now a few stereo/interior shops at LOTO are busy for the summer doesn't resurrect a whole industry.

I posted a thread on OSO a few months back with a hypothetical thread: 500k to spend and run a boat and you got to keep the money left over after you sold it in 3 years. This was hypothetical money and not a single person on OSO bought a new boat!

I hate sit down seats, my first boat had them 24 years ago, I hope someone stays in business making bolster seats,
