Here's a you tube clip of the tractor that I would like to have in the next 5 years. The John Deere 50. To find one and restore it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AO4yukGTbx8

In 5 years I would not only like to have a place with a garage. But to get into another hobby. I've been getting interested into restoring Farm Tractors. Taking the tractor to parades, cruises, and shows. Get a custom wagon for the back and have my nephews ride in it. Something that's pre 1960. Either from the 40s or the 50s like a John Deere or a Ford.

Great plan brah... i bet you can pick up a heap of country cornfed skanks in a restored farm tractor... try to find one with a lot of hand cow milking exp... that should do ya.. besides you can always put your mouth in the bathtub water and make motorboat sounds... rm

You've been watching too much CMT. They don't really flock to a Deere tractor like the music videos would have you believe.

Good luck with your non-boating endeavors. See you back here soon :)

Not the kind of "tale" I'd want.

You certainly have a sense of humor there. It's all good there. I do think boats are definetly cool looking. I'm not sure if I any plans of owning another boat again. I'm sure there are members on this forum that collect and restore tractors.

Funny that you mentioned that. I don't really watch CMT. I watch VH1 Classic instead.

It is what it is. Sorry to get you all confused there. Who knows if I'll get another boat in the future.

Iliveonanisland, your such a freaking smart ###! I'm not even trying to pick up ladies at all in a restored tractor. Yes I would like to have a girlfriend again. I'm also a gentleman as well. In that I treat women with respect. It would be nice to have it look brand new! Ha Ha about there being cow milk on it! I would be looking for one that has rust on it and faded out paint. Take the tractor all apart remove the rust, prime, and paint it.

As far as boats goes I have my dad's boat and numerous friends that own boats.

Leave me alone. I never made fun of you in the first place there Iliveonanisland! How would you like it if someone from OSO started making snide remarks to you?

You have to admit coming to a boat forum where next to family/friends boats are the next passion for most here, you're going to get some mixed responses. I'd venture a guess that boating dominates just about every bit of discretionary time and all of it if you're a professional with the members here. So coming here stating that you're a tractor man will be met with some imaginative responses.

Wow... just wow... ok let me break it down for ya boatless captain nick... im going to write my reply very slowly so, i don't lose ya nick.

first off i would never defile a classic ole tractor with plain old cows milk/leche. I was inferring a country cornfed gal with lots of exp milking cows by hand, just might be a handy companion to have around.

Second off i always treat the skanks with mucho respecto... hershey kisses for the chunky ones, and i always serve the MD 20/20 chilled. Im even talking ribbed condoms for her pleasure, wink wink.

So please dont unfairly judge me by this one post brah, im not like that!

Thirdly when i hear someone say restore i have visions of them taking it down to a handfull of milk crates full of parts... engine, trans, diff, etc... not a scuff and shoot paint job over at the local body shop!

now in an effort to get to know you a little better can you give me the apprx length of the school bus that picked you up for school in the am. You can give it to me in feet, inches, meters, whatever, as i have an abacus made of used benwa balls, and can do the math...

that being said, i wish you much luck with your tractor restoration, and in your search for a suitable soulmate/skank... RM

24ft bayliner... with a turbine engine out if an old SR71 blackbird in it

But seriously, currently i have 3 boats and two skanks... a 15ft runabout i use to bounce around the islands where i live.

i also own a 30ft pos (cringe) colombian made cargo boat with a pair of 40hp made in china crapola sail engines, that ive used the last two years hauling building materials and skanks to the island where my hostel is located. Im adding more seats next month and hanging a pair of 200 rude eggbeaters on it to haul 32 guests/skanks a trip to my island in the future.

I also have a 32 manta cc with a pair of 300 rudes V8s on it... but as soon as my hostel starts making more coin i plan to put together a 38 to 41 ft offshore boat with cummins 8.3s and arnesons to run to and from cartagena to shuttle guests/skanks to and from my hostel.

Other boats ive owned include 39 larry smith scarab, 35 mistess, 21 donzi minx, 19 honda jet boat, 18 ft donzi, and a zodiac for diving.

I think ill wait til im in depends, before i start restoring old tractors as that could seriously cut in to my skanking time...RM

Thats cool nick glad we could bury the hatchet.

Btw just a tip when dealing with wide load country cornfed skanks, its easier if you butter their hips, so you can push em through the doorway to your crib a lil more quickly so your buddies or the neighbors dont see what cha drug home! Peace out nick, rm

So he says.... I'm still pretty confident the new user ID involved some three letter government agency and a thwarted attempt to take over a brothel/compound somewhere in South America.

Blueabyss 04-01-2016 03:14 PM

I sold my go fast boat back about 5 yrs ago after it ate its 3rd motor in 3 years. 2 of them in the same year...lol.. Decided I was getting a big cruiser. Made an offer on one and it was declined. 6 months later I looked up the ad for that same cruiser and it was listed for 10k less than I offered. I picked up the phone and called the broker only to find out it had sold. Asked why he did not call me back as I had offered 10k more 6 months ago and he replied.. Oh ya. I forgot about that.. Dumb Ass. I had been boatless for about 2 years at that point. Anyway I was pissed and went on ebay and typed in "Boat". Third boat that popped up was a 1999 2452 Hardtop Bayliner Ciera with a 5.0. Said it had cosmetic damage which consisted of scratches from Hurricane Sandy. 7000.00 obo. Yes 7k. I called the guy and we settled on 5500.00. Got the boat delivered to Florida 2 weeks later. Put it on the hose and it fired right up. Launched it and took it for a spin. Ran and drove perfect. Put a swim platform on it and a new prop and ran it all season with no problems. The next year I changed the manifolds and risers as I did not know how old they were. Switched them to the newer dry joint style and did some general maintenance like impeller , plugs , bellows and such. Trailered it to Miami and took a 10 Day trip to Bimini Bahamas. It has a Hard top and glass on 3 sides so its a good Foul Weather boat. In fact its the best boat I have ever had.. And its an OLD BAYLINER...lol. We run the piss out of every wknd in the summer. Occasionally we will have a couple strippers on board and inevitably one of them will ask if they can drive it.. Im like sure. I set the tabs for them and away we go.. WFO all the way to the Island or sand bar. Its indestructible. I am still going to get a big cruiser but will never sell this boat. So never boatless again.
Chris
