I'm not sure I understand that, do you have noise restrictions?

This may very well be true but almost every go fast at my marina has it and I have NEVER seen it enforced/ticket issued. I could imagine on a lake with noise restrictions this may be the case, but on Lake Erie tons of people have it.

Have you been cited for it? And where?

Ohio law has the same verbage rendering Silent Choice illegal in the state but it is not enforced anywhere we have been on Lake Erie. I do not do neutral revs at the ramps or restaurants to catch anymore attention than we have to. Being courteous as possible goes a long way.

It's enforced on my lake... At least it was with me. They told me, "We know most of you guys have that system but until the rest of them switch it in front of us, they get to get away with it and you don't!" They also told me "If we ever hear this boat running on the lake again you will be red tagged and thrown off forever! I argued that I should be able to remove it and have it constantly loud as long as it was under the 90db limit. They told me that was not acceptable since if had the "factory capability" of being silent so it had to be disabled in silent mode... I almost went as far as returning the boat to the factory to get it "factory removed" and documented for technical reasons...

Wow, interesting -- I don't know how they could ticket you if you meet the noise requirements....but that's a whole different discussion.

I will say that exhaust on my boat is loud. Louder than the last one I had with stock manifolds. Thankfully this one has captains call, although I don't feel like it makes the boat that much quieter

captains call is illegal if the boat does not meet state noise regulations when with the exhaust open, if your boat meets state noise restriction laws while exhaust is open or closed than you have nothing to worry about.

if your boat does not meet state noise regulations while the exhaust is open and you have captains call that is when you get a ticket, because they view that as you trying to hide your loud illegal exhaust

NOISE RESTRICTIONS AND MUFFLING DEVICES
Boat muffling Boat motors must be equipped with an efficient muffling system or device in good working order. Most boats and motors that come directly from the manufacturer are adequately muffled. It is illegal for a boat to be so loud that it is an extraordinary annoyance or distraction to persons in the vicinity of that boat. Boat exhaust systems may not be modified in any manner that will reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of the muffler or muffler system. Cutouts (muffler bypasses) are illegal in Pennsylvania. Boats without a muffler or muffling system must be backfitted before being operated.

PA law as written... If you read the last line, it looks like that leave it open to eliminate all thru-hull exhaust systems without mufflers... :picard1:
