Intercoms, What Are Y'all Using?

And how much did they cost and who has the best deal? Prefer four unit wireless set. Mic has to work in a direct wind blast. This one looks nice but is almost $1,600:

Have tried two systems, none of them work very well in open boat if your face is in the wind.

Then maybe plain ear muffs like at the shooting range would be better?

Someone was offering an Intercom with a throat mic but I can't remember who it was. Always thought that might be a good answer to the wind noise.

Rugged Radios with their digital noise cancelling chip. Clear as day at 100 MPH+! They sample the ambient noise and cancel it out so all you get in clear voice and or music thru the headsets.

Wow, they are very expensive! Don't know if I can justify that right now ...

Anybody else have an opinion on headsets? I need some, my boat already has a Radio Labs intercom system, I just need good headsets.

Watch for sales. They have them often.

I don't know how much wind you get or if the Sampson units would work for you although I suspect they would but I wish I had got an Intercom set years ago. My wife always wanted them but I resisted due to the price. After using them for 1/2 1 season I can't imagine not having an intercom. Besides the social aspect I feel there is a safety factor. Nothing like communication in snotty conditions, a congested area filled with lake lice or a poker run with many hot boats running fast.

I already have high frequency hearing loss from playing with loud weapons in Vietnam Nam I don't need more loss and an Intercom is much better then the ear plugs I used to wear. We don't hardly blink when spending money on engine upgrades but hesitate on something that protects our hearing and provides safety by offering better communication.
