The truth is insurance premiums are based on risk. None of it makes much sense but I am sure they have their reasons for what they charge. For example my AMG SLS Black Series which stickered for right around $300K cost less to insure than my wife's $65k Mercedes ML350 or any of my other vehicles for that matter, same deductibles, no mileage limitations etc.

It's a shame someone titled this insurance discussion thread about a burned boat.

Sad to hear. Looked like a very nice boat. Agree with some of the others like LaughingCat. Wrong thread to discuss insurance. Someone start another thread and then we will get into that subject.

Yeah, stop the insurance discussions.

Glad nobody was injured, but still such a shame to see one burn like that.

Companies have rating systems that a agent or underwriter enters the insured driver and vehicle information and assigns premium. Normally the highest risk vehicle (speed/value) is assigned to the highest risk driver (age/violations/wrecks) to develop the premium per vehicle and so on. Consider your self lucky! I went from a 911S to a SL63 and got hammered on premium.

So, did they put it back on the tilt trailer? And if so, did it ooze out all over the pavement? And does insurance pay for replacement pavement? :D

That "MTI Coating" on the trailer is better than that "True Coat they put on at the factory!"

Also pretty sure it had a halon system too but once a fuel line break or the like there is little any system is going to do.

I thought our glorious EPA banned Halon?
