Phantom 34 in classifieds info
What's the story with the 1993 phantom in the classifieds that just popped up? Looks like bad machine. 800hp, tractor pipes and #5 drives.
Not many pics or price |
I bet that thing just hauls the mail! :) I think my wife knows this guy, "Bill" thru a mutual friend. I met him once years ago, IF it's the same guy. If it is "Bill", he also used to race SVL class.

Love how the company website says www.aol.com LOL!
Looks like a bad ass race boat. Would be a good class 4 boat. |
Where are all the Phantom guys to chime in???
|
I didn't know it was for sale till now. I know PPI just redid the interior as I was there at the same time making a few changes. Will told me it ran 118 last he knew. wow! I think they ran it at Reggie's shootout too and it did well. I don't know how much.

Looks Good, How much does he want?

118? Ive driven a Phantom with over 700 HP a side a lot and that seems like a stretch. Love the low freeboard and the rough water handling!! Seems like a great boat.

How do you feel about that price for a 1993 race boat?
One question I would have is do the engines require race gas? If they do, at a minimum you'll likely want to pull the heads to lower compression (thicker head gaskets, new heads, etc). Keep in mind that could also mean a change of props too. |
From what I'm told The thing has probably only seen sunlight for 20 hours in the last 20 years, probably a good reason why the vinyl looks so good still. The gentleman obviously never wanted to part with it. I cant blame him. After the economic downturn ,Phantoms never seemed to get good money again. Not because they are a pos, far from it . For those that don't know, they all are custom made, hand laid by a caring and craft loving builder. Each one is like his child. Each one a bit different in suttle ways , usually for the speedier. There may only be 14-15 34's in the world. Because of that, they tend to lack in value, not however, performance! We who own them usually cant say enough, they are a true hot rod faster than any boat in its class with the same power with exceptional handling. All that being said the price is a bit high, but it is certainly a bad ass boat!

I met Bill Hill and his Phantom when I ran my Magnum in APBA back in "93. He was quite a character and a blast to be around. That boat does have some history.
