Ugliest reg sticker contest.

Nothing to win but bragging rights. I dread every two years when the new registration stickers come. Usually just hoping they will color coordinate with the hull but this year…..

another great job done by Maryland...agreed totally ugly.

Scagburner 05-03-2016 03:46 PM

PA is the same way... They run a two year cycle with Blue/Green on the odd years and Red/Orange for the even years.

When I ordered my 2008 32 SSR, I had Mitcher T do two paint rendering in colors to accommodate both sticker series until I could confirm my delivery date so it wouldn't clash.

I didn't spec out the paint on the current boat. I picked the boat up in November but waited until March to register it to avoid the dreaded Blue/Green stickers!

USCG Documented
No-dicker-with-sticker on documented boats in VA.
Fortunately, my little blue cat has a blue sticker on it this cycle for VA DGIF.

Now those ridiculous Automobile Windshield Safety Stickers though; I HATE THEM. My mechanic lets me remove and install them myself. It's a REAL PITA on the Vette. (Sore topic, just had to climb in Vette with a razorblade on a wand last night.)

I hate front license plates but yours is the coolest one I've seen. We don't need 'em in Michigan.

Best way to avoid the ugly chit, leave them f'rs in the glove box. You get stopped for it, pull them out and plead soooooo f'n sorry sir, My dumb.

RGPIII 05-03-2016 08:41 PM

Said the same thing when i got mine this year. my boats white/red/black with a damn blue sticker.

partlowr 05-03-2016 08:54 PM

I can't complain, IIllinois stickers are not all that bad compared with some I have seen from surrounding states.

f_inscreenname 05-03-2016 09:27 PM

I'm just impressed with amount of stupid information they put on it. The old ones worked for decades. Like they really needed to write "Expires" on it and everybody already knew they were good until "Dec 31". I obviously "Paid" as opposed to "Stolen". I understand there is unpaid stickers (under 6hp) but maybe they should have had "Unpaid" or some other mark on them.

RGPIII 05-03-2016 09:38 PM

same with the fishing stickers this year. and now they are a year from when you purchase them on those.

f_inscreenname 05-03-2016 09:47 PM

Will be curious to see if they put "Unpaid Vessel" on the sticker for my little crab boat (its free if the boat is under 6hp). You know being PC and all having "Unpaid" on it for all to see would be discriminatory.:cool-smiley-011:

Thank you.
I can't take the credit for the idea, but did the work myself. Some other folks on the Corvette Forum have taken even further backmasking the Chevrolet symbol logo. Another chap curved & affixed the plate directly to the back of the window painted cover; but he had to grind down his plate a bit more than I'd like to do; asking for trouble if they get pissy.

California's is bad because you have to have two of them.

I'd tell them I pay my muscle fee three times a week at the gym so you can stick it. :)

Are those mussel stickers for fresh water? I've herd before without them you boat has to sit in a yard for a week or some time period before going on a lake??

I think we have a winner. Leave it to California. Mussels are inevitable.

partlowr 05-04-2016 08:45 AM

Admin can lock this thread now....California is the clear winner in this debate....or should I say loser lol?

badmonkey 05-04-2016 01:37 PM

Really digging that our boat is USCG Documented...don't have to place those nasty stickers on the boat....:cheer:

This year's Chain sticker....hot pink.

I guess it will match some of the "vice" graphics on the other boats.

pm203 05-04-2016 07:44 PM

Documented boats still need the reg sticker in NH.

I forgot I need a Chain sticker. I have a hot pink stripe so I'm in luck lol. Where can I pick up my Chain stickers?

COOPS 05-04-2016 08:35 PM

Several locations listed on the foxwaterway.com site.

BBCLiberator 05-05-2016 11:18 AM

Based on what I see here I have nothing to complain about -- I didn't like the 2014 as it was orange, but the 2017 are Blue...don't have a picture of the 2017 however. I did have to change out the MC #'s to a more contrasting color after getting stopped twice last year, I should complain but I kinda knew that when I installed these.
