On a side note only girly men are scared of a woman who can use a wrench. They are sure better than a prada princess any day! And lol at your "girly man" comment. |

Just cause she doesn't turn a wrench doesn't mean she is a "prada princess" either.

I call em like I see em. Usually women fall under don't mind getting dirty, having fun types or prada princesses. I've had my share of both and know which I prefer.

So if a women doesn't turn a wrench she just has to be a prada princess, I got it....you guys can keep your wrench turning ladies. No appeal at all in that.

Makes sense. You are a fishing boat oops. I mean center console guy now. Lol
One that boats year round too. It really sucks to turn key and go out all day, everyday, all year. It really is a shi*ty life my man. Also to add to your hate that I left a power boat for a CC, I recently got an actual fishboat. :D let the hate run through my man. |
No hate here. I go out on those too. But the hull truth is that way ~~~>

so you pulled the trigger on a CC, what did you get? How long did you own the sonic
Got a 24 Pathfinder with a friend that does tourney fishing. Keeps us on the water for the time (while I try and make the most of the business) and island hopping. 150 V-Max and T-top on her. First trip out is this Sunday. No clue how long it will take to recoup what I put in to the biz so I buy another big boat but even though I am always pegged as a CC guy the idea of a 32 spectre with o/b's or a MCOB Sunny with blacks sound good when that day comes. So does the A/T but pretty sure that will still be out of my reach. |

Insurance is a totally fair point that hadn't been discussed. Still blows my mind your provider wanted a 2k premium. I could see a little uptick but would have never thought that much. I agree, turnkey is awesome but a 90mph boat sounds fun too!

In reference to FastHawk6. My insurance for 05 353 Fastech with 525s is $1400/yr. Our new to us 07 38 Fountain with 600s is $1600/yr. Your paying a lot for insurance if it was a $2k incresase over what you were paying to go to a 525 boat. Factors like experience, driving history, where your storing it, bank loan, all play into insurance costs not just the type of engines.
|
The policy for our 353 Fastech with 525s is currently thru State Farm.
|
I would advise not to do anything with your policy then, state farm is getting hip to the hp and speed on these boats. A lot of it has to do with the underwriter at the top knows anything about boating. I was told from my agent anything over 850 hp or 70 mph they will not insure anymore. I had 2 other boats with them before this one. A 28 with a procharged 454 and a twin 496 ho 32 and it was good with them until they got a hold of a new underwriter and he said they should not of insured the other 32.
|
State Farm would not insure my 575 boat last year although I have a house, condo and 4 vehicles with them. They told me 500 was the limit
|
496 vs 525? I choose 500EFI.
|
Bottom line is maintenance. Weather they need it or not my black 502s (that have been modded to make 540 hp) come out every year to get checked. I am one the one who does this work. Why? because I enjoy my time in the shop and I have the know how. On another note A women who know how to turn a wrench is a blessing from god (I have been on both sides of this fence). My fiance helps me on my 3500hp hemi and her 540 hp 502s in her boat.
