That boat use to live in New Jersey, haven't seen it in a while.
|
khadley,
That boat was stored at and sold by Lake Cumberland Marine very recently, you might try giving them a call. |
I saw it at a rest area on 75 in Kentucky while on my way home. They were heading North and I think it was around the time of the Cinci poker run.
|
the picture is from the cincinnati poker run a friend of mine bought it that weekend from lake cumberland marine
we are trying to get it to run right but we are not having much luck |
What is not right about it and what are you trying? Are you tinkering with set up, or is it motor questions, as 2.4 bridgeports are touchy, I have a set on my redline I know!! Or prop selection, X-Dimention, is it porposing, give us some details??? I live a few miles away from the awesome factory, and Jim and Marie are more than helpful, and I'm sure they could answer questions better than anyone. I've never seen a 30 with outboards let alone 3 of them, only the 26 and under with outboards. I really dont think it would be a disadvantage though with all the weight savings over big blocks. Have you checked how it is balanced yet. More details, more details, more details!!! Viscious One also may be able to help out on any question, he knows the history, and set up's on everything that has come out of this area, and everywhere else for that matter. He builds a 32 cat that has similar lines and bottom, My friend bought one from him but runs twin promax 300's and is really set up well, but that was alot of trial and error to get it where it is today, but it's all in the set-up.

we are trying to make sure the boat is set up right it has two left hand three blade props and one right hand four blade they are soinning out and the center motor is set up higher than the outside motors
it just seems like the boat should be faster than what it is any suggestions? |
How fast is it? It sould probably run 90-100?
|
I know that boat personaly, That boat was Eddy T's boat it was called tilt back in the day! The only problem with that boat was it was 5700lbs with no motor's when it left the factory it's just to FAT to FLY it needs to be light to run with those old 2.4's if it had new 300 max's it would make that boat run some decent speed's it probably rides great! either up grade the motor's or strip it and put in a pair of superchared big block's!!
|
Forgot!! Best I seen that boat run was 78 on yhe GPS on a rough day that's what that boat liked best to air it out! If you like I can hook ya up with the oringinal owner let me know. Spark.
|
ViciousOne
That would be great if you could hook me up with the previous owner I drove the boat right after he got it and i figured it was running right at 80 It seems like it is heavy for an outboard boat |
Wow
80 is SLOOOOWWWW! 5700# does sound heavy. Thats about what the triple ob race boats are weighng out at at the end of the races now. The boat probably needs some set up work on it. does it have jackplates, low water pickups , etc. it sure seems like it should do at least 90. One of the best OB set up guys around is John Vanderstel in St Cloud Fl. He worked at Lake X for like 20 years but now has his own shop called Offshore Concepts. If you realley wanna gwt that thing to RUN give him some time to set it up for you. |
My **** box will run 91 after I pull the the middle motor out, that boat needs some set-up.
|
That boat has had a couple of owners since Eddy Trakien I will E-mail you his numbers after I call him tommorrow!
|
the boat has stainless marine set backs on it the motors are back over a foot and it looks like they have been moved around the outside motors have low water pickups on the boat the center one doesn't
the props are two left 28 cleaver 3 blades and one right 28 cleaver 4 blade that was until we broke the propshaft and lost the four blade so the testing is on hold right now the outside motors where spinning 6400 rpm and the center was 6200 rpm it's my friends boat and he wants me to help him to figure the set up out |
IF this boat will run Big John can get it there. He is about 10 miles from lake x and all the props you could ever dream of trying. I am not sure but you choice of rotation doesn't seem right, but I could be wrong. Offshore Concepts number is 407-891-8900 bring the boat to Fla for a vacation and leave with it set up.
|
The boat had the big brackets on it cause it was set up for inboard's so you could trim it it need's a outboard engine well like the skater or shadow cat to mount the engines right to the trasom . If he would like to do that let me know I'm only a few hour's away from you ! Did he buy the boat from National marine? I know they had it for a while. Later Spark.
|
He bought it from lake cumberland marine
what about turnning it into an i/o is this possible? |
Too much money to do the conversion. You are way better off finding an IO boat if thats what you want. I would bet you could freshen up the rigging and set up and be in the 90's.
|
We could change that boat into I/O's with out a problem at all !! You guy's should take a ride up and check out our shop, We have alot of neet project's going on right now! Later Spark.
