Mefi scanner

Is there any quick/cheap way to scan mefi? I found the rinda one for 500.... Is that the only/best option?

I have a 2008 Donzi with 6.2 mpis and have a beep from smartcraft. Boat is racked and the closest place that can do it requires me to go down, pick up the boat ( hour and a half away) then trailer it a couple hours to have it scanned. On top of that I don't have a truck anymore so I have to borrow that first as well as get my unused trailer in order. First world problems, lol.

Just buy the Rinda. You can rent/loan it out to your friends to offset costs. It's money VERY well spent, especially when it can save you days or weeks of prime boating season wait time only to find out you have a simple fix.

first of all Smartcraft is NOT compatible with MEFI at all period and for 2008 all Mercruiser MPI engines for smallblocks used was ECM 555 for controllers - DID NOT use MEFI as it was long gone. ECM 555 started in 2001 FYI

For whatever scan you tool you buy it will need to be compatible to the ECM / PCM and have the correct cable adaption for the DLC / connection

DIACOM Software. I've been using it for yrs. It will scan just about everything provided you have the correct adapter.
