Anybody used one of these?

Anyone used one of these? My boat stays on a lift but even with the cover on I get rain in through the vents, so I have to climb down the back of the boat every time like a chimpanzee and pull the plug.....

I'd put the real plug in if I was overnighting somewhere, but does anyone have any experience with one of these?

Our boat is on a lift with a lift cover. Being anal I put the snap on cover each night. I never have gotten water in the vents that put water in the bilge. The product you describe sound pretty good and if you are having some issues it sounds like a solution

I installed one on our boat..

It would get clogged up with the smallest amount of debris when trying to drain water from the bilge
Finally got fed up and took a chisel to it and took out the check ball..

Doesn't look like you can run an oil drain hose through it.

So with no check ball does that mean the boat sinks everytime you put it in the water?

I always put the cover on, but the vents on the hatch are below the cover on a cafe so rain gets in......

That was my biggest concern. The dirt clogging it and then me enough water getting in to agitate me. I can't stand water in the bilge.....

I have oil drain hoses on the oil pan that I can just drop the hose and pump out with a drill, but I take he motors out every winter....

. Hey man - saw your boat in CL. Did you decide to off it?

turbofox54 05-30-2016 08:40 AM

It's up there but no real hits on it so either I'll part it out or finish it eventually. Already priced below part out value so not going any lower.
