Bingo. Mercury Racing made this change two years ago. I ran Toro until then. Mercury Racing lube is what you want in your 6 drive.

Running to the marina after work to see of they carry it. On my shelf in my garage I found 5qts of NEO and 4qts of Lucas so if they dont carry the merc racing, that's what they are going to get.

Not suggesting, just asking...
Has anyone tried the Lucas Gear Oils in a marine application? I've put them in my trucks on last couple changes.

Haven't used Lucas products in any marine application yet with the exception of their red grease in my trailer wheel bearings. In the past I thought Lucas products were just snake oil but after using their grease and later their power steering fluid in a couple of noisy pumps I have to say I'm impressed. Not sure I'm sold on their oil treatment as a good oil shouldn't need anything added to it but their other offerings I've found to be excellent performers.

imo... I'm no guru, but I have a hard time believing the merc stuff is anything special, more than likely a rebottled gear oil for 250% markup... their business model.

the mystic is what i and several others with ssm drives use.it is good stuff and it is made by citgo.i buy it in a 5 gal bucket.
