Since I'm here in Kansas and have never seen one in person I have a Question on Snowmobile trailer tires. I have seen a couple of pictures of The trailers that are used to tow Snowmobiles around in the snow and slush and the tires kinda look like Golf cart tires (short and fat)??
How makes them?
Are they just Golf cart tires? I wouldn't think they would be able to hold that kind of weight?

The reason I'm asking is that I would like to put them on my Duck Boat Trailer so I could pull it better through mud and muck. Also it wouldn't be as tall as it is now (closer to the water)! The boat ramps that we use in the winter aren't very steep, actually they are very shallow!!

They do work well and they do hold alot of weight. I've also seen them used on pontoon boat trailers. There are a couple different manf. for them. If you get a Northern Hydralics catolog or similiar they carry them there.

They are not Golf Cart tires. They need to say "high speed" on the sidewall. They are short and fat so that they can be under the trailer and not sit too high. They are OK tires but tend to come apart at high speeds. Just look in the median and you can see lots of them (at least in MI). I think they will "float" on top of stuff better buy I have seen them just drag through the sand and snow before. They don't turn, just drag. If your trailer is very light they may float when in the water and this may cause the trailer to flip. Carlisle makes them along with many others. I think the size is 8x10.

And yes, Mitch is right, they should say "Hi-Speed Trailer" on them.

I had some on my PWC trailer. They really help with backing down a beach, and gravel ramps.

FunHome, look under Automotive, then look for tire and wheel, once that comes up look for a sub catagory of trailer tires.....:

Ofcourse you will need to look for what size you want but they are there...if not then request their free catalog and they are in there. I bought mine from them a while back
