Sacrifice post for all those users on a mobile device who have this as the first post on the page

Pictures have gotten much easier to post than it was in the beginning. I remember when the site had size restrictions and you had to use your own photo editing software and figure out how to crop and also reduce image quality to get it to the correct file size before it would allow the upload. Huge pita at the time.

Get rid of the ads in the first post that actually interfere with using the site. Especially true when using a phone to browse the forum. Actually, get rid of the ads in between the posts as well. Having ads surrounding the whole site seems like enough.

Maybe add a new section in the owners section specifically for surface drive owners. There are some unique problems and questions that would be nice to have in one place.

At the risk of offending some people there is a difference between a bayliner and a beak. The site is Offshore Only, not Anything that Floats Only. I can understand trying to make the site more inclusive and keeping current, but doing that moves it further away from the core membership that made it what it is/ was.

I also agree with needing more of a presence at races and poker runs and sponsoring some parties.

Can a feature be added to allow for the easy transfer of private messages from the site to a local folder? That would eliminate the message limit complaints.

In short, if I owned oso I'd give it to someone that owned a high performance boat, attended races, poker runs and parties and actually browsed the forum as a user on a regular basis then I'd no longer have to ask what do with it.

I thought of something else, pay the admins (MODS) something for all the work and bull**** they do and put up with. I've never seen a company take advantage of the front lines quite like this one does.

If I had to change anything I would have all new threads (UC excepted) start in the GD forum and move them as they develop, maybe move them to appropriate forum after 24 or 48 hours. I think there are too many categories to follow. A lot of threads that would interest me go unnoticed due to the myriad sub forums.

Center console section and outboards, better to evolve than waste away. In 10 years this high performance offshore aspect of boating overall will be a fraction of what it is now, and now it's a fraction of what it was 10-15 years ago.

If you stick to the market that made OSO what she is and never move, then the forum isn't growing. It needs to evolve and follow the popularity of the members. A centre console forum has been suggested a few times here and it's the next logical step IMO.

Not pointing a finger but simply providing an example. If you're not going to open a centre console forum, perhaps the Sunsation forum should be closed down or at least moved to a history/vintage/relics forum. The boys at Sunsation have gone with a business decision to follow the market into centre consoles exclusively, shouldn't the forum also have the flexibility to expand and accommodate the trends?

Sunsation have been very popular on here and I doubt anyone wants to lose them just because business is going very well for them........??

Sounds like me already but I'm only a MOD. I do try to represent when we travel though.

OSO(IB) has sent me some goodies to hand out a few times but the demand always overwhelms the amount they send.

Thank You :thankyouthankyou::thankyouthankyou:

I signed up for the job knowing pretty much what it entailed. For the most part though, it is SpeedGirl, Cash Bar and myself who Mod the site.
Most of the other Mods have become less and less active on the site over the past few years.
It would be nice to get some OSO shirts and promo stuff though the online store to wear at events and promote the site at the same time.

I'll definitely need a pay raise then:lolhit:

I do move quite few threads already from GD to other areas. I generally leave a 1-2 day redirect in GD.
