In the last few months, it seems many people have abandoned this site . Where did they all go ? And why ???? Politics are anywhere you go so, what happened?

Boating.

I've been in the bilge rigging all day.

I get that ive been boating and wrenching on boats but its just kind of dried up for the most part . You look at threads and one or two people online...

Boating......winter is time for OSO

mudslinging and attacks got way out of control, people started getting grief just because they knew people that were getting grief. If you had an opinion on anything that was different than what the cool kids were into that particular day, you got attacked.

Dead on the money. Why post, or even try and contribute just to get your head chopped off.

Boating a lot. That leaves less time to take care of the normal around house stuff.

everyone is on facebook. But I really don't enjoy navigating through all that crap.

Facebook, gawd...what a waste. I'll get out of boating and move to the Rockies before I join that.

I thought so too for a long time, but finally broke down and signed up about 6-8 months ago.
Its an easy way to keep in touch with friends that have moved away or who live far away.

I've been out of boating. After going out in my Dad's boat it would be nice to have one again. The reason why I sold my boat. I want to invest my money, get a truck to replace my current car, and next fall go to College. Right now I don't have a lot to say seeing that I'm boatless. Figuring out my future. Currently wanting to get out of the field that I'm in. Going to guidance counselor for aptitude test. Then I know what field to go into that would work out best for me. I want to be able to interact with people and live comfortably. To make sure I don't have to worry about my job being outsourced or done by robotics. After that take ACT. Find the College I would like to go to. Get that Degree and make a nice living.

I think phragle hit it on the head as it was kind of shocking the way people were treating one another on here this spring, why is it so hard to agree to disagree ?:argue::flag:

Most have not come to after passing out when hearing that Hillary will not be charged for ... anything after all the public bullsh!t the last coupe weeks.

Honestly,,to too many a$$holes on this site and trouble makers. Black magic to all the ones that gave me grief..

I've been instructing my nephew.... Too young for Tres' school, so we're covering the basics... Been through the chapters on pinning the throttle and crushing waves, gonna wait a bit on the chapter about trolling for Fountain skanks.

Facebook. It's killed almost every forum I've loved from fast boats, to hot rods, to guns, etc.

It's awful because there is no way to archive and search for answers to questions down the road. Someone asks about why their 496 is beeping twice every so often....or what year Fountain switched to a bigger step, and guys answer, but then...poof, that info is gone.

The other bad part, is that the FB powerboat pages are so "easy" to "join" or "like" that it brings all the non-boating mouth breathers out of the woodwork, putting in their $.02 on every single subject.

At least with a forum, there is some "work" involved with signing up, then navigating to the page and logging in. Kept a lot of the lazy armchair quarterback idiots out....but now you have Joe Numbnuts giving advice about prop setup on a top gun while sitting on the $hitter at work, when in reality, he's never even seen one in person, much less owned or run one.

So anyways....yea....phucking facebook killed the forums.

For a Top Gun you want to go with 2 blade bronze props. :helmet:

Hey wait a minute. I've been known to browse OSO while sitting on the ****ter at work.

I normally browse OSO while I'm killing 40 minutes pumping gas into my boat.

Hey don't laugh, I used to have one of them. Had a 14 footer with a 150 straight six and a standard aluminum prop, good for just over 50mph. Stick 'Barry Bronze' on and not only did it look cool (after a lot of polishing) but I picked up a few mph!

I wish I still had that big heavy 2 blade, I'd put it up on a wall somewhere.

At 57 my job left the country, so study up and choose a good path!

Again thank you now's the time for me. I'm 32 and single. I certainly will study and choose a good career path. Last thing I don't want to have happen is to be foreclosed on and homeless because of the field I'm currently in. In that I feel miserable at work as well. To be safe and get out while I can. To be happy, confident, knowledgeable, and passionate about what I'll be doing for a living.

Yeah I don't mess with the Facebook anymore, it really messed my life up.....

its kind of funny, my wife was on and I'd look through the posts, so I said help me sign on . Next thing a bunch of relatives I dont really know want to be friends . Between political crap and shared stuff that nobody gives 2 chits about, I just abandoned it. It is a great time waster if you're totally bored.....

Fair enough, but the fact that the ibob thread popped up about the same time, and I have no idea where it started as I would have posted there instead of starting this one kind of makes my point!
I really hope that folks come back as this has been an excellent source of information to me and many others I'm sure.:)
