Transom plug repair kit tap size

I know the size of the tap, wich is one inch, but what i dont know/cant find is :
Pipe tread tap?
Or straight size type of tap?

You won't find that tap at Home Depot, likely need to go to professional tool shop.

1 inch NPT tap is special order from most places. I got mine on Amazon for about 30 buxors. Good luck!

IMO the Jr Marine repair kit is much nicer and isn't that expensive.

I have one that I have not used since I did that repair 35 years ago. I would pop it in the mail for you but I am out of town till Wednesday .
