I know I have longed for one of those "old style" OSO parties like we all remember. Well, after a few recon trips to Key West I'm happy to say OSO and Speed on The Water will be teaming up to bring you a great party in Key West this November. Full story below.

Are You Ready To Party? OSO Bash Coming To Key West

Offshoreonly.com and speedonthewater.com are teaming up for a big-time party in the nation’s southernmost city in November.

Under the watchful and mischievous eyes of then-owner Steve Schuble, Offshoreonly.com became more than the most popular virtual community in the high-performance powerboating world. It also became a real community with a cast of characters who enjoyed real get-togethers and official OSO parties that—especially during the Miami International Boat Show—became the stuff of legend.

Do you miss that? Judging that more than a third of you who have responded to the OSO site-wide poll (http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...o-improve.html) so far want a greater “OSO presence” at events I’d say you do. And so would Greg Harris, a longtime OSO moderator, and the decision-makers at Internet Brands, the company that owns the site.

That’s why Offshoreonly.com and speedonthewater.com will be hosting a party on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Sandbar Sports Grill (http://sandbarkeywest.com/) in Key West, Fla. In the unlikely event you don’t know your performance-boating calendar by heart, that’s smack dab in the middle of the Super Boat International Offshore World Championships, as well as the primary arrival day for the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run. Timing, as they say, is everything.

And the first drink is on OSO—all you have to do is check in and get a ticket. There also will be a complementary fajita and taco buffet, courtesy of the host venue, when the party starts.

On the speedonthewater.com side, we’ll have free T-shirts and 2015 Year In Review magazine print editions for the first 100 guests, as well as an unlimited supply of drink cozies. (You can’t have too many of those, right?) We’re still working on additional giveaways, and we’ll announce them as they’re added.

Everything changes, but nostalgia for “the good old days” never dies. So why not rekindle a bit of the real-world social fire that once blazed outside the virtual walls of the world’s most-popular high-performance powerboating website? Join your fellow members of the OSO community, whether you’ve met them or not, for a cold one or two in Key West during the biggest event of the go-fast boating year.
