Hill Marine Props
Any experience with Hill Marine Props. I am considering installing a set of 5 blade props on my 1999 Sonic 358 to eliminate porpoising. I am currently running 28 pitch bravo 1 props. Thanks, Tom.

I dont think the 5 blades will eliminate the porpoise, I owned a 386 and I had to drag the tabs a little at certain speeds to stop the porpoise.

Your best bet is to talk to someone like Brett at BBlades or someone with experience tweaking props for these boats. The porpoise is due to the hull and transom notch design, and you will likely never totally eliminate it. I don't think you are going to find an OTS prop that is going dramatically change things.
If you have the opportunity to try/rent the props before purchase, by all means due so.

The first thing I would do is try a set of props with the defuser ring removed we have found that this helps a lot with porpoising. You can call Augy at Cutting Edge propeller in Costa Mesa CA 949-394-3236 He has props you can try first.

Thanks for all the help. I did speak with Augy at Cutting Edge Props. He said he can rework my existing props to eliminate alot of the issue. I am just looking for a week to ship them that we have a down boating weekend if they don't make it back.
